Hey there, Welcome to my Coastal Shadows Estate
I’m Rachel Lynne—writer of mysteries, wrangler of moonflowers, and the reason my husband mutters, “you and your projects.”
I live in coastal Georgia, where Spanish moss tangles in ancient oaks, ghosts feel like neighbors, and history refuses to stay buried.
This place seeps into everything I write. My stories are born from crooked streets, whispered legends, and that unmistakable sense that something old is still watching.
I published my first book in 2011. Then life happened.
I homeschooled my daughter. I helped build a family business. I managed a grocery store department—work I genuinely loved. And in the quiet rhythm of stocking shelves, my imagination ran wild. I carried a Sharpie in my pocket so I could scribble snippets of dialogue, plot twists, and the occasional murder idea on scraps of cardboard between tasks.
Eventually, those boxes held too many stories to ignore.
So I quit. I sat down. I started writing in earnest.
Now I write full time, crafting mysteries steeped in Southern Gothic atmosphere, cozy intrigue, and paranormal shadows. From haunted Savannah streets in Shadow Destiny to small-town secrets in Holly Daye and simmering danger in The Cosmic Café, my stories are built for readers who crave immersion—who want to step into a world and stay awhile.
I’m a reader first. I write the books I went looking for and couldn’t find.
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me tending gardens, surrounded by animals, wandering coastal backroads, and collecting the kinds of details that eventually become stories.
If you’d like to linger on the porch with me, you can join the Coastal Shadows newsletter—where I share behind-the-scenes glimpses of the Lowcountry, my writing life, and the quiet magic that feeds these worlds.
Wherever you wander here, you’ll always find a story waiting.
I’ve saved you a chair…
